A Marz product · USSD and web

Campus money the school actually runs.

One education company. Many schools. One MarzPass card at every till. Parents send money by dialling or opening the web — students pay for lunch without carrying notes.

What MarzPass is actually for

Not another parent app with an agent at the gate. MarzPass is the money layer an education company runs across its schools.

USSD and web

Parents dial. Or open the web.

The same phone and PIN work on USSD and the parent portal. Send money or freeze a card from either.

One company, many schools

Operate every campus from one desk.

Enrol students, issue cards, and close canteen tills per school — under the company that already runs those campuses.

Official tills

The canteen is the product.

Staff look up the card, see the student photo, take the payment, and finish the day with a close report. This is school commerce — not cash handed to a field agent.

Student portal

Students see their own money.

A student signs in with the card number and PIN. They see the spendable balance and what left the canteen till today.

How a campus goes live

The company turns the school on. The parent never has to visit an agent desk.

1

Company adds the school

The education company onboards each campus it operates — one login, many schools.

2

School issues the card

Name, class, photo, and a card number are captured at registration. The PIN stays with the student.

3

Parent dials or logs in

USSD or the parent portal: send money, set a daily limit, and freeze a lost card.

4

Till takes the payment

Canteen and shop staff see the photo, take the amount, and close the day on the record.

What the card is for

Campus life — not a cash-out network.

Canteen till

Lunch and snacks come off the spend balance. Staff confirm the student photo before the sale.

School shop

Approved items only. The school decides what the card can buy on that campus.

Student portal

Students open their own card: the spendable balance and what they bought today.

Parent USSD and web

Parents send money, cap the day, and freeze a lost card — from a dial or a browser.

A parent using the phone to send campus money

For parents

Your phone is enough

Dial USSD or open the parent portal. Send money to the card, cap the day, and freeze it if it is lost.

  • Same PIN on USSD and the web
  • The student receives the full amount; you pay the sending fee
  • SMS when money lands, when it is spent, and when a card is frozen

For companies and schools

Run the money layer, not a side hustle.

MarzPass sits with the company that already operates the schools. Each campus gets cards and a till. The company gets one close and one place to replace a lost card.

Many schools, one company

Add campuses as you grow. Students stay under the school they attend.

Canteen till

Photo check, PIN on larger spends, daily close without counting notes.

Replacement desk

A parent can request it. The school issues the new card. The balance stays.

Custom branding

Cards carry the company look across every campus.

A school campus operated with MarzPass

From the people who run it

“I dial the same code I use for airtime. I do not need another app on my phone to send her lunch money.”

Grace Namutebi

Parent, Kampala

“We operate three campuses. Cards and tills sit under the company — not three separate agents.”

Joan Achieng

Operations, education company

“I sign in with my card number and see what I spent at the canteen. I know what is left before I join the queue.”

Questions we actually get

How do parents send money?

Dial USSD or open the parent portal. Same phone, same PIN. The student receives the full amount.

Who runs MarzPass at the school?

The education company that operates the school. They enrol students, issue cards, and staff the till. A school is not treated as its own company.

How does a student pay for lunch?

They present the MarzPass card at the canteen till. Staff see the photo. Larger spends ask for the card PIN. The amount leaves the spend balance.

What if the card is lost?

A parent freezes it from USSD or the portal. The balance stays on the account. The parent can request a replacement; the school issues the new card.
